Jens Pulver vs. Tim Elliott at Resurrection Fight Alliance
A few days before a clash with MMA legend Jens Pulver at Resurrection Fight Alliance's debut event in Nebraska, Tim Elliott was featured in MMAjunkie.com "Fight Path" series and discussed how some productive wrestling sessions with wrestling novice Terry Etim convinced him that – with some hard work – he could pick up MMA just as quickly as the UFC fighter picked up wrestling.
In his 10th pro fight, Elliott decided to test his theory against a former UFC champ with 12 years' pro experience.
Elliott vs. Pulver is no exception.
After a career-worst six-fight losing skid, Pulver (25-15-1 at the time) was on a bit of a career resurgence heading into the Dec. 16 fight and had won three of his previous four fights. For the fast-rising Elliott (6-2-1), who had won six straight fights, it was a major step up in competition that happened to headline the night's star-studded event.
Could Elliott rise to the occasion, or would Pulver's experience prove too much?
